RESILIENT AND DURABLE

Vinyl sheet flooring is made from a hundred percent synthetic material generally called PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). This flooring type has thicker layers (could be 6mm) when compared with the tile flooring and are more preferred for high traffic areas as it is durable, trendy and available with built-in adhesive. A vinyl sheet flooring can be installed in a commercial setting where there is constant movement. It is cost effective and has a vast number of advantages over the linoleum and the ceramic tiles as it comes with a broad range of colors and patterns to match every décor.

Why Install Vinyl Sheet Flooring?

Do you own a childcare center with a floor type suitable for kids? It is impossible not to love the comfort that the sheet flooring provides as it is generally softer beneath your feet, unlike other tiles which are hard on ankles and joints generally. If you seek for a flooring type that is impervious to water, thereby preventing slips and falls, then the vinyl sheet flooring is the best.

Precaution and Maintenance

Vinyl sheet flooring is a very durable flooring type provided the necessary preventive maintenance is done on it. For instance, cleaning of the floor shouldn’t be a rare task as it should be done at least once a week. In addition to this, mopping of the floor is a great way of improving the longevity of the material as it cleans the accumulated dust particles. When it comes to the application of heavy loads on vinyl sheet flooring, it is necessary to take precaution as sharp edges and objects can damage the vinyl floor. Stains should be removed only with a clean fabric soaked in water.

Floor Preparation

An important factor to be considered in the installation of the sheet vinyl flooring is the surface on which the sheets are to be laid. It is essential to have a smooth and flawless surface, free from any imperfections. Any hole on the surface should be filled with concrete before the commencement of the laying process.

Advantages and Suitability

In addition to being very useful in bathrooms, public places, and hospital floors, vinyl sheet flooring is a great flooring type for childcare areas where a soft surface is needed. The resilience, water resistance, scratch resistance and ease of installation properties of the vinyl sheet flooring makes it an ultimate flooring choice for many applications. Just like all other vinyl floors, the sheet type is also shock absorbent, thereby, reducing the effect of the aggressive sound created when a hard-sole walk on it, or when the stretcher in a hospital is rolled on it. In general, they are relatively easy to care for, thereby making maintenance cost low.

However, without proper care and maintenance, you’d be amazed by how quickly you’d get tired of this particular home furnishing equipment as it’d have its the touch of elegance.
